This September baritone Thomas Hampson will perform Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer as part of MTT’s exploration into the composer’s evolution in a special program titled Origins and Legacies during the SFS's three week Mahler Festival. The concerts will be recorded for future release on SFS Media as well as filmed for the Orchestra's Keeping Score television series. We asked Tom 3 Mahler-related questions the last time he was in town - what he likes about performing with the SFS, what recording live on stage is like, and what can we learn about Gustav Mahler through his songs.
