Get ready for an explosive, firecracker-popping celebration at Davies Symphony Hall! Please join us in making big noise for the SF SYMPHONY'S TENTH ANNIVERSARY CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION and to usher in the Year of the Tiger on Saturday February 27, 2010!!! It will be a spectacular day!!!
To commemorate the TENTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY for CNY, the symphony is making this event BIGGER, BETTER, and BOLDER than ever before !!!! Tickets are on sale now starting at $25.00 to $65. For all ticket holders, you get to enjoy both the concert program as well as the Festival Reception, which will take place on all three levels of Davies Symphony Hall!
Doors open for the Festival Reception at 2PM. What's at the Festival??? For an hour prior to the concert, you get to explore and delight in assorted restaurant vendors, tea bars, arts and crafts booths, stage performances, calligraphy, fortune tellers, face painters, magic, water color painting, lion dancers, Ms. Chinatown USA, Ms. Asian America and her court and more! Please note that all festival activities are complimentary with your concert ticket!!! There's something for everybody whether young child or grandpa! There's loads to do and it will be FUN!!!
Concert Program will commence at 3PM to 5 PM. For this very special anniversary celebration, world class guest artists will be featured. Among them will be principal dancer of the SF Ballet Yuan Yuan Tan and pianist Haochen Zhang, the youngest participant and the first Chinese recipient to be awarded the prestigious Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Gold Medal at the Thirteenth Van Cilburn International Piano Competition.
For 400 patrons, the evening continues at the exclusive Imperial Ball! This multi-course dinner and dance gala will be held at City Hall, which will be beautifully themed for the occasion. Individual tickets are $350 & $600. Tables for ten guests are: $3,500, $6,000, and $10,000.
Funds raised are to benefit the symphony's educational programs which help support over 75,000 SF Bay Area school children!
