SFS garners an Emmy nomination for its all-Bernstein gala concert at Carnegie Hall

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has nominated the MTT & The San Francisco Symphony's September 2008 all-Bernstein gala concert at Carnegie Hall for an “Outstanding Special Class Program” Emmy Award. Pink Martini - Video from the band's new DVD

Pink Martini is the Portland-based band that's "like a romantic Hollywood musical of the 1940s or 50s but with a global perspective which is modern," according to founder and artistic director Thomas M. Lauderdale. Or, if you prefer, "part language lesson, part Hollywood spectacle." However you describe this indescribable bunch, they are a lot of FUN.
