Thanks for the warm welcome! It's nice to meet another oboist too. I have 4 kids and a dog (well, 5 kids if you count hubby). I also love animals and also hate mayo! I went vegan about 5 years ago and it was right for me. (I'm not pushy about it, but i feel much better health-wise, so it was right for me). One thing I've noticed about oboists is that they are either tall and low waisted so they appear to have lots of lung potential or they are shorter and their lung capacity seems to be more like a barrel shape. It's just my own observation but I seem to see oboists fall one way or another. (btw...I'm short, but see if you notice it). I 'm happy to be a fan of the SF symphony. Long ago, Michael Tilson Thomas and the Pittsburgh symphony members played one-on- one with my college orchestra. MTT made me so proud when he said that he couldn't tell which of us was playing the solo in "Firebird". Do you play Leaf Trombone? It's one of my fav games right now. Best wishes to you in SF and Michigan.

We're looking forward to having you intern in the music library this summer! We didn't get to chat the other day, but I too am an animal lover and have a small menagerie at home. I also detest mayonnaise! We'll get along famously. JC
