My favorite musicians:: My favorites are the ones I heard when I was much younger: Artur Rubenstein, Horowitz, the Juilliard String Quartet, Rudolf Serkin (his recordings of the 2 Brahms piano concertos are sublime), The Beaux Arts Trio, The Cleveland Symphony under Szell, The Vienna Symphony under von Karajan, Glenn Gould and many more!

My favorite composers:: My family original came from Eastern Europe and so I am drawn to very romantic and passionate music- Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, Mahler, Schubert, and Mendelssohn. I also enjoy Baroque music, especially Bach (cantatas, Brandenburg Concertos, the Well- Tempered Clavier, Toccatas and can you ever forget Starker’s playing of the unaccompanied Bach Cello Suites? It is especially nice to hear Bach keyboard music played on a harpsichord.

My favorite concert of all time:: Artur Rubenstein in the early 1950’s playing an all Chopin concert at Carnegie Hall. He played the 4 Ballades and some Polonaises.

What I’d like people on this social network to know about me:: I was born into classical music and it has been a cornerstone of my life. Along the way I did 20 years of dermatology/cosmetic surgery, got a business school degree and currently trade currencies. As surprising as it sounds, I truly still wonder what I want to be when I grow up.
