The Symphony is thrilled to welcome Lang Lang to Davies Symphony Hall on Wednesday, September 9, for Opening Night Gala 2009. The evening commemorates the start of the Symphony’s 98th season and the 15th anniversary of Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas with the Orchestra. Lang Lang is one of the biggest names in the classical music world and his mastery at the piano will electrify the audience.

VC Day at the YO

Volunteers of the Symphony have supported the SFS Youth Orchestra with VC Day at the YO for more than 27 years. On May 17, 2009, the concert and reception were especially meaningful as we bid farewell to Benjamin Shwartz, Resident Conductor and Wattis Foundation Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.
