Welcome to the Smule Group on the San Francisco Symphony Social Network! It’s a good place to hang out and meet other budding musicians who use Smule apps to turn their iPhones and iPod touches into musical instruments.

Congratulations to Nina G. and Helen H., winners of our Smule sweepstakes!

First prize winner Nina gets two tickets to the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert with the San Francisco Symphony July 18, 8pm at Davies Symphony Hall, PLUS an iPod touch (32 G) with the Smule applications Ocarina and Leaf Trombone, and an Altec Lansing external speaker. She also won a free night’s stay at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and a $50 Zipcar voucher.

Second prize winner Helen gets two tickets to the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert with the San Francisco Symphony July 18, 8pm plus an iPod touch (8G) and an Altec Lansing external speaker.

Join us for an Ocarina Master class with Smule’s Turner Kirk (aka The Mule).
After the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert, Turner will lead a free demo and master class at the front of the Davies Symphony Hall stage, for interested concert ticket holders. He will teach you all the tips and tricks to get you playing your iPod touch or iPhone like a pro. We’ll practice an excerpt from the music from FINAL FANTASY, culminating with an instant Ocarina orchestra when played in unison!

In the meantime check out Turner Kirk’s discussion below regarding Smule’s musical apps for the iPhone/iPod touch, download the simple instructions for how to play the Ocarina or Leaf Trombone, and check out other San Francisco Symphony Social Network member profiles. On the video page you can upload videos of yourself and your friends playing, or upload photos. Questions? Leave them in the Questions and Answers Discussion forum, below, and we’ll get to them as soon as we can.

I've invited some friends who I hope can make it since the show is sold out. Maybe we could all meet up again this summer?
